Move over... There's a New Dress in Town!

We've all had a loooong winter.. even those of us from the Sunshine State.
What better way to welcome spring than a dress with the sun all over it?

I created this dress from new t-shirts whose bottoms were miss-printed and would otherwise have ended up in the trash. The applique is also created using recycled t-shirt scraps. Comes in sizes xs-xl!

'For Rylan, Love Mom'

Meet Quinn, my old roommate from back in our snowboard bumming around Snowmass days! Thanks to Facebook we still get to keep in touch and I found out she has started an Etsy shop, 'For Rylan, Love Mom'. I'm so excited she's sharing her craftiness with the whole world. She not only appliques these adorable recycled goods but just look at that colorful embroidery. Makes my day sunny for sure!


Here's what she has to say about it all...

I've been making all kinds of things my whole life. I am most passionate about sewing, crocheting and making semi-precious stone jewelry. For years, people have said, "You should sell this!" and I have been humble.



Now that I am a Mommy and staying at home with my 1-year-old son, Rylan, I have been taking advantage of nap times with a little craftiness. I have a large group of creative girlfriends who inspire and encourage me and the most wonderful husband to lend his support.



So Etsy came along and has made it so simple. Why wouldn't I sell my stuff? I hope you like it!

Elastic Bond and ragamufyn... rocket to the moon!

I had so much fun dressing Sofy, Elastic Bond's front lady for their last show at Transit Lounge in Downtown Miami. She is pretty fearless with her on stage dress and I love it. Makes my job all the more fun!

Vintage Applique Laptop Skin

I created this custom applique 'skin' for my laptop last week using fabric from the vintage bedsheets i collect and recycled canvas.

The entire project was sewn by hand using embroidery floss. I added my tag to the bottom and scattered buttons.

I attached the whole thing to my laptop using a low temp glue gun. It's semi-permanent and can be peeled off if I ever decide I want to change it.

Handmade. Recycled. Business cards. Yeah.

I thought I'd post a photo of my new(ish) handmade recycled business cards. The idea for making them came to me after I tried to re-order from a printer who uses recycled paper and soy ink only to find out their machine was broken and it would be months before it was fixed. So I gathered up all my cereal boxes and started cutting. A custom ragamufyn stamp I've been holding on to came in handy and gives it the handmade look i love!

Craft Your Vegan Dinner

Brown rice cooked with garbanzo beans. garlic. olive oil. pressed into onigiri molds. sprinkled with love & kelp granules.
Curry:
onions. garlic. sauteed.
TSP & mushrooms marinated. Patak's Curry Paste. coconut milk. garam masala. paprika. Jamaican Country Style Hot Curry Powder. Braggs.
chop spinach.
slice green pepper.
baby tomatoes cut in half lengthwise.
cook together until TSP is soft.
eat.
